Visual arts camps for kids in San Antonio

San Antonio's visual arts camp scene benefits from a deep bench of museum education programs. The McNay Art Museum, the Witte Museum, and the San Antonio Museum of Art all run summer kids' camps, and several community art centers (Southwest School of Art, Centro de Artes) offer accessible workshops in ceramics, printmaking, and mixed media.

These programs typically include some kind of culminating exhibition or take-home portfolio. If you have a kid who needs more than a coloring-pages day camp, this is the right category. Tuition is mid-range for museum-affiliated programs ($225–$400 per week) and lower for community art centers.
