Privacy Policy

This policy explains what SATX Camps (a product of App-Ranch.com, "we") collects when you use this site, why, and who else is involved. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run and improve the directory. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising. We do use privacy-conscious analytics to understand how the site is used (see below).

Information you store on your own device

When you set search preferences (your child's age, your zip code, and interests), that profile is saved in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is not sent to our servers. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

Information you give us

• Saved camps and email. If you save (favorite) camps and choose to back them up, we store your email address, any name you provide, optional child ages and zip code, and which camps you saved. This lets you sync favorites across devices and, only if you opt in, receive occasional updates. We send a one-time sign-in link by email to restore your saved list.
• Camp submissions. If you submit a camp, we collect the camp details and the contact information you provide so we can review and follow up.
• Chat assistant. Messages you send to our camp assistant may be logged so we can improve its answers. Do not share sensitive personal information in chat.

Information we collect automatically

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, general location, device and browser type, and aggregate usage patterns). Microsoft Clarity also captures anonymized session recordings and heatmaps of on-page interactions to help us improve the layout. These tools set their own cookies and may process your IP address. We use this data only to improve the site, never to identify you personally or to advertise to you.
• Abuse prevention. To rate-limit forms and the assistant, we store a one-way hashed version of your IP address. We do not store your raw IP for this purpose.
• Spam protection. Public forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which performs a privacy-friendly check that you are human.
• Cookies. If you back up favorites, we set a single functional cookie to keep you signed in to your saved list. Our analytics providers (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) set their own cookies as described above. We do not use advertising cookies.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the site: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Resend (transactional and opt-in email), Cloudflare (Turnstile spam protection), Anthropic (the chat assistant), and Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (usage analytics). These providers process data only to deliver their service to us. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Email

We send transactional email (such as your saved-list sign-in link and replies to submissions). We send marketing or update emails only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in those emails or by emailing us.

Children

This site is intended for parents and guardians. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Any child ages you provide are used only to match camps and are tied to your account, not the child's.

Your choices

You can ask us to access or delete the information associated with your email at any time. Email hello@satxcamps.com and we will take care of it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. We will revise the date above when we do.
